A few years back when I was attach to Kitchen Story, I saw a grey oven that looks ordinary at $500+. When I used it, I fell in love with it. Back then I had my baby belling. Later while hunting for a good warming tray for chocolate, I called Beste (S) Pte Ltd since it was the distributor in Singapore. I could not recall how I ended up going to the company to meet the Commercial Manager. It was then I was offered to do public demo. I am still thankful for the opportunity till today. If I am not given the chance, I will not know I could present myself in public. This is something I find it weird cos I do have stage fright performing solo or taking practical music exams. To talk and present a 2 hours demo were indeed something new. Somehow I overcome it. I guessed it must be the passion and the urge to learn spur the presentation to move on and on. I do not practice my demo but will research extensively to improve my knowledge. In any "live"demo or teaching, there's no way one could practice. Nevertheless, the knowledge account for any on the spot respond to the supporter at the floor. I know this oven very well and recently I realised there's one part of the specification is very important. The glass panel with overheating protection is an important features I must highlight now. This little note which I never consider the most important in the past, was indeed very crucial. Recently I have a class and I was given a $50 oven to bake. Within 1 hours of the class, the two ovens raise the room temperature by 8-10 degree celcius. Yes, the room was very hot and I was not happy cos apart from the sauna, all of us were expose to radiation as well. The glass panel transmitted all the heat to me directly as I were next to it. Cheap ovens are great for a quick meal and reheating and I will not advise to use unless I read through the specification making sure the glass panel has over heating protection. This is an experience I will not forget. Apart from good specification, Rommelsbacher after sales service will be there for you when you call them. Some call this oven user friendly. To me, the compact size helps to shorten baking time and in return save electricity. The heating elements plus the size of the ovens gives me good bakes. Though its not as trendy as other ovens, I love the way it is. Some may think likewise and feel that built-in is good. I felt this is individual preference and you are not wrong either. At the end, I believe we need an oven to help us to produce good bakes and don't give us big problem. If you wish to understand this oven better to give it a chance for your review, please join me for my "LIVE" demo now or in the near future. Why I still enjoy doing Rommelsbacher Oven demo? This is because I love this oven and I used it even way before I knew the company. There's no gimmick to it. The demo has food tasting throughout as I move on from one segment to another. Typically, we have French style or Teriyaki roast chicken leg, Baguette, pizza and a cake. See you at the demo !

Hi, I was trying to find reviews on this oven and the other Rommelsbacher oven BG1650 online but there was hardly any info besides your post. I only know about this brand when a promoter at Courts introduced to me. I was almost going to get a Rowenta countertop oven as I read many positive reviews on it. The newer Rommelsbacher BG1650 has a fan function. Do you think it is necessary to have or ok to do without? Appreciate your reply. Thanks!

There's no necessity to use fan ovens. Fan oven is great for laminated pastry baking.
